Switch Now are delighted to be supported by the D&J Lloyd Community First Fund, through Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, for the Cambridgeshire Youth Social Action Programme. This means we can continue to build skills and experience for our fabulous co-workers, to help them progress towards employment.
Switch Now was chosen as one of the Community Matters organisations that John Lewis in the Grand Arcade, Cambridge, supported across the summer. Customers to the store donated their green coins in one of three boxes.
Christine Shaw, Community Liaison Coordinator visited the Switch Cafe and handed over a cheque for £1114.00, which we were delighted to receive.
Thank you to John Lewis and their customers, this helps us continue in the work we do, changing opportunities to lead to more fulfilling futures for our co-workers!
The collages below show the young adults out and about enjoying lots of activities doing Switch Socials across the Summer.
Switch Cafe staff and co-workers made and served an abundance of refreshments at the superb family fun day in St Neots today. We would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic Nicola, Ross and the St Neots Tesco Community Team, who organised and supported everyone there. There was a great turn out from the St Neots community, including some of our regulars from the Switch Cafe. Thank you all for your continued support, without which we would not be able to continue to change opportunities for our fabulous co-workers.
Switch Now are delighted to be working with St Neots Fencing and thank them for giving Freddie and Tom this fantastic opportunity of paid work, confirming their thoughts that people with learning difficulties / disabilities are as worthy of paid work as any individual, they just need the opportunity to show employers what they can do.
Freddie is doing data inputting work in the office at St Neots Fencing and Tom is working in the workshop.
At Switch Now we profile, train and support our co-workers, recognising their skills and potential, to progress them towards paid, supported, voluntary or self-employment and have a more fulfilled future.
Open every Thursday and Friday 10am - 2pm each week at Loves Farm House. The Switch Cafe co-workers complete meaningful work placements, through baking and serving a delicious selection of cakes, sausage rolls, sandwiches, salads and toasted sandwiches. We all take pride in providing excellent cakes and savouries and a friendly, professional service to our customers
Our first work placement offer is from Mark and Michelle at St Neots Fencing, Cromwell Road, St Neots.
Freddie and Tom have started work placements with this great company, who recognise and support what Switch Now wants to achieve; fulfilled paid employment for young adults with learning difficulties / disabilities. We are so pleased to be working with these fantastic people who are offering a range of work placement roles, with the aim of this leading to paid employment.
Fantastic to be working with such a forward thinking company!
Fantastic publicity for Switch Cafe in the Hunts Post. Great photo of the ribbon cutting at the launch event and the insert photo of the amazing cake that Iona Wilson made us, thank you!
We were delighted to have the Switch Cafe officially opened by St Neots royalty, James and Georgina Corley, Mayor and Mayoress of St Neots, on Thursday 3rd March 2016.
The launch was a huge success supported by many high-profile people in the area, aswell as lots of our favourite people. Thank you to everyone for their support. We are exceptionally proud of all our co-workers as they worked so hard to make this event very professional.
The Switch Cafe is now open every Thursday and Friday 10am-2pm. We sell an excellent range of hot and cold drinks and freshly-baked cakes.
We would love to see you!

In the coming weeks we will have our finalised menu, so look out for that.
Going in the right direction!
'Moving on' evening at Sam Pepys School absolutely confirmed the need for Switch Now in the local community. This photo shows the 'lull before the storm'... We met some fantastic families and young people we are looking forward to working with. Always good to see some of our favourite people too; we are so grateful for your continued support. Thank you to all at Samuel Pepys School

Exciting news… Switch Now has joined forces with St Neots Timebank
Timebank is a way for people to share their knowledge and skills with their local community and be rewarded for it. Volunteering for Timebank will mean that Switch Now’s co-workers will use the skills they have for the benefit of their local community and in return they will earn spice-credits… watch this space to find out more!

Donation from Eynesbury Village Association
Switch Now received a generous donation from Eynesbury Village Association, which we will use to buy equipment for our co-workers to set up Switch Trading… more news about this to follow.
A cheque was presented to Mark, Catherine and Katie, one of Switch Now’s co-workers by Georgina Corley.
We are ready to open our doors!
From the initial idea a few months ago to where we are today, Switch Now has achieved far more than we thought we could at this stage. In the last couple of months Switch Now has become a registered Community Interest Company, we have also launched our website as well as creating a good social media presence. To gauge the need locally we ran free workshops, visited youth groups, met and spoke to the St Neots locality team, local community groups, schools, local authority staff, parents, carers. For all this support and guidance, we thank you all.
This valuable support and input has helped us to mould Switch Now. It has also led us to bring our opening forward from the provisional New Year date. It gives us great pleasure to officially announce that Switch Now will start trading on the 5th November 2015.
If you would like any further information please visit our “contact us” page.
We look forward to offering a new and diverse provision to the young adults that join us, as well as St Neots and it's community. Thank you again to everyone that has supported Mark and Catherine in getting Switch Now to where it is.
Switch Now at the Loves Farm EXPO
We would like to say a big thank you to Ben and all the volunteers for making us feel welcome at the Loves Farm Expo. It was a great event that really involved the local community. We are looking forward to working at the new community centre and becoming part of the Loves Farm community.
